'I'm R/c modeler anad I am currently working on a PT-19 of just over 7 ft wing span.
Some of these planes fuselages are painted light blue and others are dark blue ( I think I have even seen a sliver one), with the wings yellow.
My question is what is the reason for the different colors?
Was it the branch of service? I figure if anyone would know someone in the group would. Thank you and I'm glad you fellows keep the old birds flying. Leo Cupp in MI.'

'Merry Christmas, Leo,

Prior to September 12, 1942, All U.S. Army primary and basic trainer aircraft, including the PT-19, had True Blue fuselage and landing gear with Orange Yellow wing and tail surfaces. After that date, they were aluminum overall. Hope this helps.
