'does anyone know the length of the flap cables that are in side each wing.  Our airplane came with cables not cut to length with about 4 feet of cable sticking out of the wing root.  I cannot find this length in any fairchild literature.  also we have two different shape control sticks, does anyone have a few extra sticks  lying around?  I really hate asking questions by computer as it is like sending messages by pony express, are there any F24 gurus out there who would give me their phone number????

I believe each cable is a different length. 2 up and 2 down. left and right, I'd have to measure each to be sure,

'I have an old manual for the UC-61, and it shows  6 cables for the flaps.

4225-1 - 67 3/4" Right side.  (connecting cable)
4225-2 - 67 3/4" Left side.  (connecting cable)
4225-3 - 60 3/4" Right side. (Flap pull down cable)
4225-4 - 58 3/8" Left side.  (Flap retract cable)
4225-5 - 117 1/16" Flap lever to Right side, (Flap pull down cable) Larger in diameter than the -6.
4225-6 - 116 1/2"  Flap lever to Left side. (Flap retract cable)

It looks like the measurements made from the end of fitting to end of fitting.
For the present, don't ask me where they go to & from, right now.  Tomorrow, that will be different
I worked a 12 hr shift last night and I am not in any condition to do much of anything right now.

I will send you a scanned copy of the cable chart tomorrow.  It gives the cable sizes, fitting type, and all of that good stuff.  I can make any measurements that you may need.  The wing are about 200 ft from my computer.
I will make some checks on the cable lengths tomorrow.  There also is a drawing that shows the routing, sort of, for the cables
I think that most of the above stuff is right.  I will check it for sure, tomorrow.
Bob

'I checked the UC-61 manual versus the CD, and there is a discrepancy lengths.  The CD shows cable 42255-4 as 56 3/8" and the UC-61 manual AN-115CA-2 has it at  58 3/8".  I would have to say one is wrong.  I walked out to the airplane and check the wing and see what it has.  The CD shows the cable that I have, 42255-4 as 56 3/8".
All of the other cables -1 to -3 and -5 & -6 shows the same length in both places.  It is minor, sort of, but the manual shows length is the length as absolute.  The CD shows length as bolt center to end of thread.

It is a cold, windy, and nasty looking day here, so that is why I am fooling around with the computer.  Plus, there is a NASCAR race starting is 35 minutes.
