Hayes Brake System Flush

'I've incorrectly topped-off my Hayes brakes master cylinders with fresh DOT 3, rather than the DOT 5 used during prior servicing. I discovered that the fluid loss was likely due to a badly corroded (right)brake bleeder valve needle and seat, guessing from moisture in the system.

Jack Threadgill mentioned that he'd used denatured alcohol to flush his PT-19 brake system before refilling/bleeding with DOT 5, and that he had no issues with master cylinder seals swelling or brake bladder deterioration following this procedure.

I'd like to thoroughly flush my system of the incompatible fluids before refilling and bleeding with fresh DOT 5. Any comments or cautions before I take this step with DA?
