F24R Jacking Points

'Can anyone inform me of the proper jacking points for my Fairchild 24W40 (with 200 hp Ranger)? I'd like to perform hydr strut maintenance, and while I'm at it wheel bearing replacement.

Also, is strut oil filled/measured at full extension, or under at-rest normal compression?

Unassociated question - non-ethanol auto fuel is not available for my low compression/low octane Ranger 200 hp. Since I'm forced to burn 100LL exclusively, higher compression seems in order. Has anyone experience with this mod? 374?

When I needed to overhaul the struts, I lifted the front of the aircraft with nylon webbing fastened around the engine mount tubing right at the firewall. I did one side at a time and fastened the opposite wing strut to a floor weight via nylon webbing to ensure stability.

If you just need to access the wheel bearing, you can insert a heavy pipe or rod into the hollow axle from the inside (once any wheel pants are removed) to use as a jack point.

Not long ago I went through the process of removing my gear legs to replace the bushings and sto ervice the struts. The manuals show a jacking point near the gear attach piont but I did not find anything to jack against that I was comfortable with. My strut fairings were not installed so I was able to use an engine hoist and strap to lift each side of the AC from the wing strut attach point. I made a simple support post (braced 4X4) to put under the strut intersection to support the AC while doing the work. Don't trust the hoist to hold the AC up for any length of time. I have some photos if your interested. There may be a better way but this got the job done.
