'Folks - I am in a jam over here in UK - can't find any one that has suitable kit to bend a new control stick for a Ranger engined F24 as in drawing 47106 on the CD. I don't fancy the 'Fill it with sand' method.
If anyone knows a person/company that is able to bend a 4130 1 1/8" .049" wall thickness with two 4" centre line radius bends I would get A/C Spruce to ship a tube to them direct and then on to me after bending.
If it could be done in the next few days I have a friend returning to UK who could bring it with them.
Alternatively - does anyone have have a spare that they would sell (top part of stick is parallel to the bottom part, not sloping rearwards when installed)

'Frank: Can you find some Cerrobend or the like and fill the tube and have it bent? Might be able to find it in the UK as Wood's metal. Same stuff that they use in gas cylinders and in sprinkler systems for melt-out plugs.

Id have thought these guys would be able to help Frank as most are made of 4130?

'For what it's worth, the " fill it with sand " technique is dead simple to do and if you want to
employ a " plumber's hickey" it makes it even easier and more accurate. Weld a cap on one
end, fill with fine sand, plug the other end, bend where needed and cut off the end pieces to the
dimension you need. If you can't find a hickey of sufficient width for the short radius you may need,
any custom fab shop doing race car tube bending will make short work of this simple task.

The search is over - A ready made one has turned up in Europe.

I have certainly learned a lot about the 'Fill it with Sand' method - I must give it a go next time I need to bend a pipe.
