'It's time to get some roundels painted on the wings of my PT-26, but I'm not sure of their proper locations. Are they on the top of one wing, and the bottom of the other, or top and bottom of both wings?

Seems like they were placed about 1/3 of the way in from the wing tip to the wing/center section attachments.

Any description that can be provided will be appreciated.

'Charles: There is actually a set of measurements for placement of US markings. I'm not sure which manual that they are in. The placement info also gives you the formulas to come up with the correct sizing for diameters, star placement, ect. If someone else doesn't chime in with the info, I can swing by a fiend's place and look it up.

I'm sending you what I have on the PT-26 markings. There is a drawing # 19105 that is on the PT drawing disc that Gene Haines has. If you have the micro film, I think it's on that also. There were several variations of the roundels durring the coarse of the War. I will mail the stuff I have today. I have your address as 1340 W. Sacamento Av. Chico, CA. 95926. 'Hi Curt,

Progress is normal - 3 steps forward, 2 (or more) back. However there does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel, and it's not a trains' headlamp!

I don't have any cowl pieces left over though. Did spot a nose bowl in a neighbor's hangar the other day though, in case anyone can use one. Looked to be in decent condition.

on the pt-19's and pt-26's what is the replacement for the original brakes???????????????
 
I had an SR-5 i changed out to UC-78's and never had a problem.
