'I have studied many photos during my protracted rebuild and have noticed that some have firewall blankets fitted.
I am thinking of doing this - if only to reduce the noise. Being Ex military mine did not have one.
Any suggestions as to what fabric to use and a supplier? - Spruce has two on offer - one which is not fireproof and the other is not wide enough.
Many thanks

'it is fire-protection (and heatshield).... it was some kind of asbestos in the past!

nowadays it is common to use some kind of fiberglass flame resistant, having at the same time heat and noise reduction properties.

Should be not difficult to find, even aircraft spruce should have some.

Moreover I ever seen some firewall sandwich of two aluminium leaves glued together, having such fireprotectant blanket in between.
