Subject: Good Idea for Christmas

When doing your
Christmas Cards this year, take one card and send it to this address.
If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards
these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get.
This is a great idea

A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue NW
Washington, D.C. 20307-5001

If you approve, please pass it on.'

'According to the rumor checking website Snopes.com the post office will not accept any mail addressed to "Any Soldier", or similar.

More info on this can be found at:

Those wishing to send holiday cards to recovering soldiers can do so through the "Holiday Mail for Heroes" program of the American Red Cross. Cards must be postmarked no later than Monday, December 7th. Cards will be screened for hazardous materials by Pitney Bowes and reviewed by Red Cross volunteers, then distributed. Use this address:

Holiday Mail for Heroes
P O Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

More info on this can be found at:

I hope this information is helpful, though it's sad we have to be so cautious.
