'Penny and I made the trip to Cannon Falls,MN last weekend and picked up the Fairchild Club stuff from Marge Berendt.
I think we got most of it but I'm sure Marge will find some more stuff. we will be going back there in the fall to put the brakes on John's PT-19. He never got that done!

I have a box full of 337's that John had as well as the memberships roster. It will take a little time to figure out how John kept track of things but I will get it as time goes by. I know there will be a few "bumps" along the way but I will try to do a good job for the Clubnd hope to have the FLYER out again after Oshkosh. I have all the books and stuff John had for sale through the Club.

As with John, if anyone has any articles, repair information or parts availability, send it to me so I can put it in the FLYER. I hope to do the same thing with the FLYER as John did. There will be a page for parts for sale or parts wanted as before.

We will have a table in the new Type Club "Hangar" at Oshkosh. The building is in the same location as the Type Club Tent was. We will be doing the Forum on Thursday morning,7-30-09 at 10:00AM in 017 Workshope Classroom. Same as the last two years! Ed Wegner and Charlie Bell will be helping with the Forum and will be in and out of the Type Club Hangar during the week. I can use any help at the Type Club with manning the table. Let me know if you can put in a little time.

'Good morning Mike,

I think it's great that you are going ahead with the club and FLYER..
Knowing you, there is no doubt you will do a good job.

I still want to come up and spend a little time with you. Our PT is doing
great and I want to see where you are with yours.

Have a great day, John

PTs at Oshkosh

'Fairchild Interest Group,
For those of you interested in Fairchild PTs and will be attending Oshkosh,
please add one more item to your agenda. As part of the Warbirds in Review
program for EAA Warbirds of America the Fairchild PT will be featured on
Monday July 27th at 1pm. If you are not familiar with the Warbirds in
Review, you may find the location on the EAA map, but it is between the
grass area where they park WWII fighters and where they sell rides for the
Ford Tri-motor. In past years they have featured other trainers, T-6s,
Stearmans, and the Navy N3N. This year the planes which will be on stage
are a PT-19 restored by Herb Carper of Uvalde Texas and the CAF's Wisconsin
Wing's PT-26. Featured speakers will include EAA founder Paul Poberezny,
who instructed in PT-23s in Arkansas, and Jack Hibbits, who wrote the book
"Take 'er Up Alone, Mister" about his days as a cadet starting with PT-19s
in Pine Bluff Arkansas. Come hear what they have to say. It would be a
great tribute to these planes and the pilots who flew them if we had an
overflow crowd at the presentation. Please attend.

'Thanks for the "Head's Up" Richard. I will certainly plan on being in attendance for that. I'm hoping to help Mike with "manning" the type club booth a bit this year too.
