Keith,
I have never come across any useful drawings of the M-84, but there is a paragraph or so and some photographs in Kent Mitchell's 'Fairchild Aircraft 1926-1987' - as you may know.

Another fairly basic source might be the FAA records on sole example, NX41893. I have them on my "wish list" for a future order from Oklahoma City.

The other source I can suggest is the NASM Archive. If you go onto to their website and use a search engine you should find a 1,071KB Adobe Acrobat document entitled, "Fairchild Finding Aid". If you then download and search this 271 page document you will find there are a number of files listed which relate to the M-84. Whether the information they contain will help you I cannot say as I have not seen them. The few files I have purchased so far, relating to Model 24 and 62 have turned out to be a mixed bunch, some with information I doubt I could have found elswhere and some which are just retreading old and somewhat incomplete data.

I recall being surprised a few years back to find the registration NC41833 was still assigned. I suspect this was just a paper aeroplane but it would be nice to think someone might have retained some original parts.
Hope this helps, Tony Broadhurst

Fairchild Museum at Hagerstown

'On the way back from Sun n Fun two days ago we stopped at Hagerstown, Md. to see the Fairchild
Museum. We got to the airport hoping to see some nice old stuff, maybe even a 71 or something like
that and found very little. We met one gent and he said something about a KR38 being in pieces somewhere
nearby and the carcass of a 24 for viewing in a nearby shopping centre display. Someone else mentioned
and old building downtown with some other archives in it.

I thought I remembered a couple of months ago someone on the list said there was a lot of Fairchild stuff
to see in Hagerstown. Can someone please clarify that ? The lads in Hagerstown said there might be
more to see in Farmingdale, Ny. Any ideas ? Thanks...

'I drove all the way from Denver to see it. It was a rainy morning....the
downtown "museum" didn't open until 10:00....and it took all of 15 minutes
to see everything there. I called one of the Fairchild Museum officers to
see if I could get to see airplanes...specifically an F24....and was told
that "the planes are in the hangar"....OK....can I see the planes in the
hangar? "Well...we don't want to open the hangar today"
So I drove home wondering why I am sending this outfit any money at all.

'That is very disappointing. I am a member and have sent them several
donations as well. I have not visited the museum. I did enjoy viewing the
DVD they put out about the history of Fairchild Hagerstown.
