'Marge Berendt called me to say that they are having a small memorial service on April 24th between 5 PM and 7 PM at the Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls,MN. There won't be a viewing since he has been cremated. She asks that no flowers be sent but if anyone would like to make a memorial contribution,send it to the Vintage Aircraft Association in Oshkosh,WI. PO Box3086 Zip: 54903-3086. John was a long time director in VAA.

My wife and I will be going to pick up the Fairchild Club "belongings" in a couple weeks and I hope to get the Club and news letter going again. If anyone would like to send Marge a card, the address is 7645 Echo Point Rd. Cannon Falls,MN 55009.

She says to say thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts.

I have only been a member for just short of a year. I joined when I
purchased a Fairchild PT-19. I did have the pleasure of meeting John in OSH
at the Type Club Tent last year. He was very helpful and full of
information for a new owner as myself. We had a great visit and it was
certainly a pleasure to get to know John even if it was for just a short
time. I am happy that I had the pleasure of meeting John. No doubt he was
a real main stay for the Fairchild Club and will be greatly missed.



My prayers and thoughts go out to Marge and the family.
