This PT-19 was restored in 1989 by the Newman's in Calif. They flew it for
about six years and then it came to Texas belonging to Richard Smith from
Austin. After a number of years Paul Wallem from Poplar Grove, IL purchased
it. Just four years later, I brought it back to Texas. It is now based in
Bryan, TX at Coulter field. (CFD) My Dad was a flight instructor in PT-19's
during WWII and my late brother owned one back in the 60's and that has
developed my interest in the 19.
This aircraft is a 1941 model with the 175 hp engine. It is still in quite
good shape after 19 years since complete restoration. It flies much nicer
than I ever imagined.
