Warner engine conversion.

Post by OldOOwl@aol.com »

'I am making progress with NC19105 and have reached the point where I need
any information on converting a F24G from the Warner 145 to the Warner
165...drawings, 337s, STCs or whatever would help...

Also....Is there any reason why the old LF crystal radios could not be kept
in the plane? They are operational. I have been told that they are now
illegal to use but I believe that is true only with the VHF radios...not the old
LF radios. I would not be transmitting at all.....just receiving ball games.

Thanks!
Richard Hawley

'Richard,

I just went through all the FAA 337 data that I have on hand, none for the 145 to 165 conv.

But, Tom Burmeister converted his 24W9 (NC20638) to a 165 before he passed away. I never did get a chance to get a copy. His wife was selling the airplane, don't know the status. You can get the FAA history package on CD ROM for $5.00. Order on line.

Here is the link to the FAA: http://162.58.35.241/e.gov/ND/airrecordsND.asp

'If you're talking about the FAA CD try leaving the NC off, then it fits fine.
