'I have 2 bendix DFA mags that were overhauled by Savage Mag, and set
up as autoadvance. Does any one know the routine to set these to the
Warner 165?'

'After talking to Al at Savage mag, and Forest Lovely I found that the
timimg is set at 13 degres before TDC on compression stroke and the
mags will advance 15 degrees after start up. bringing you 28 degrees
runing. These mags help starting by sparking both plugs, and prevent
kicking back on the starter.

The down side is you need a field approval to run them, because the
engine type certificate does not call for them. Bummer, but I'm
working the 337 now and we'll see how that goes.'

'Just for my information. Could you tell me more about these mags? I have
friends running Rangers and one with a Gypsy Major.

Thanks, Carl
