'We just got done recovering our PT 26 and after running up the Ranger
440-C5 a few times, we realized that the oil/air separator was blocked
on the crankcase breather. After we cleared that, we flew her and
found that we have a pretty good spray of oil coming out the front
exhaust pipe (1/2 hour flight put a 9" wide "puddle" on the leading
edge of the wing).

The motor had not been run for 2 1/2 years (we pulled the prop through
about once a month)

We've added the Marvel Mystery oil in the hopes that maybe it's a stuck
valve but before we tear it apart, does anyone have any suggestions?

'If you had a stuck valve, you would know it immediately. It's more like stuck rings. After such a long time not running, things tend to get sticky. Running the engine and Mystery oil should clear it up. If it dosen't then new rings are in order.

'Thanks Mike. Believe it or not, we flew her tonight for about an hour
and believe it or not the oil issue was non-existent, a few tiny spots
on the wing. That Marvel Mystery Oil is some incredible stuff....
