'George,
Hope you can get your Fairchild 24. We own a 1939 Ranger powered 24
K and also own a 1940 Taylorcraft BL-65 with a Lycoming O-145.
Fairchild is smoother and can haul a bigger load and attracts more
attention, but I would hate to give up the fun of the Taylorcraft,
especially since it is so darned cheap. I nearly spend as much for
an hour of Fairchild oil, as I do for an hour of Taylorcraft gas and
oil. We really love both airplanes but for different reasons.
If you are ever in the Minnesota Minneapolis/St.Paul area, give me a
shout.
