The shop that did the work is Interiors By Dene (Dene Knight is the
owner), 6600 South Mustang Field Road, Hanger 1-B, El Reno, OK
73036. Dene's telephone number is (405) 262-8900. He does very good
work at a reasonable price and acceptable turnaround time. I got the
material for my seats from SMS Auto Fabrics at (503) 263-3535, they
also have a very good web site. I can't find the correct name or
number for the fabric, but tell them it was shipped to R&R Aviation
in June, 2004 and was Sample D on their sample list; they will be
able to locate the correct fabric with that information. The
headliner and sidewall fabric is a different material that I also got
from SMS, but I can't find any of the material information on it;
I'll be happy to send you a sample of the material if you think that
would be helpful.
The rings that go around the window crank handles might have been
chrome. My airplane had plastic rings, but I don't think they were
original. Of the restorations I've seen that claim to be "100%
authentic", some have chrome rings and some are plastic. The chrome
rings are available through Obsolete Ford in Norman, OK; again I
can't find the part number, but they fit and look great in the
airplane.
When you get your original panel, you'll be happy to learn that a
Garmin 250 or 300 GPS / Comm and Garmin 320 transponder fit perfectly
in the original size hole in the "hump" and there is still plenty of
room to install and perhaps even hide a modern intercom system; the
headset jacks fit perfectly behind the ashtray doors.
Good luck with your project.
Best Wishes,
Brad Donner
