'Great to learn that more F24 will be fling soon-! WE have any members in the
UK-? I will be over there in March and should like to catch with someone
with common interests and see how the Brits do it-?
N81229 is getting an instrument face lift and have found an abundance of
previously completed (work-?) that was less than desirable or acceptable to
FAR. Looks like this A/C will be in REAL airworthy condition for the first
time in numerous years although it has been flying all that time-!
Happy Holidays from the Air Capital

Subject: [fairchildclub] Re: Restoration advice
Hello Ashley and Peggy,
Good to hear two more Fairchilds are on the way back to the air. To my
knowledge, serial # 373, 43-14409 is the second UC-61A produced.
For the interior of the UC-61A there are a number of pictures in the
T.O. AN 01-115CA-1 and -2. I have nearby a restoration project of
UC-61A # 430. On the wings there is still the war time fabric and
paint including star. I would be able to provide paint samples if you
wish.
On the front seats there is still the , what we believe, original
salmson colored fabric. I can provide a few pictures of stencelling as
well.
Regards
Karl Saenger, UC-61K # 891
