Great Lakes flies with

'At long last, my 'Lakes flies again with it's new Ranger engine.
Thanks to Joe Denest for the immaculate rebuild. He even found a new
(NEW!!!) set of cases to replace those wrecked by my broken connecting
rod. The rebuilt engine started after 2 blades with nary a sputter.
A two hour break in flight was unremarkable with the engine running
smooth and cool.
I've uploaded two pictures of Joe Denest's handiwork on
the "oregon 'Lakes" photo folder over at the Great Lakes Yahoogroup.
It's great to have experts like Joe around to keep these old engines
running.
