'All,

750Hrs Since New and compression is still 78/79 over 80 (Cold) on all
cylinders. Did I mention this engine has never been touched on the inside
since it left the factory in 1943. Runs dry and screens are clean. What more
can a person ask from an old engine. They sure new how to build them back
then.

Can a Warner do that???!!!!

'I have the same feeling. Why do they only give a 700 hour TBO ont hese engines? Monster bearing assembly.

'Hey Jamie! We all know that, remember I had 1900 hours on my PT
till I chickened and replaced it. 20 psi. hot idle.

All it needed was a top and it's in a Fokker D7 replica now. I have 484 and
no oil on the floor on the replacement. Vary smooth

Most all the old engines had a low TBO. Even the small Cont A-65 were set at
800, then 1000, 1200, 1500, and final 1800. Engines had to prove themselves
over time. I've had Lyc flats go to 4000 hrs between TBO. My Dad's C-85 is
pushing 3,000 since TBO. Not even a cyl off as of yet.

Treat them right, fly them often.

'Good Evening Fairchild Owners;

I friend sent me a complete 200hp Ranger Engine in pieces. This included set of cylinders bored to .020 and valve job done by Harrison Engine Service. The pistons and rings are new.

The crankshaft was new out of the box still in cosmoline. The main bearings were re-poured then line bored to fit the new shaft.. Clearances were based on service letters #115 dated 1-1-1946 , and # 5 dated 4-15-1946... The rod bearings were also re-poured and machined to fit the shaft using same information from service letters.

The owner wants to sell the engine now that it's finished. I have the engine running on my test stand now for the break in. This engine should be a very good engine, it is very smooth early in break in.
