'To all you PT-19 rebuilders,

I am in the process of choosing a system for covering and painting my PT-19 which, as some of you know, I have been restoring for many years. I am presently considering both Poly-Fiber and Air Tech. Would anyone care to share their experiences with either one or both of these systems on a 19? One of my concerns is the large area of wood surface to be covered with fabric, and if one system is easier to deal with than the other. Since this will be my first experience with covering and painting I will welcome all the advice I can get.

I am in the process of recovering the F24 I am restoring, I attended
a demop of Air-tech, and was sold by the easy application process.

In my opinion the easier some thing is the less chance you have of
messing it up, air-tech is ghlue the fabric, spray three coats of
primer , sand, and shoot color.

Stits/poly fiber, must be applied with a brush thru the primer or you
get no adheasion, and will be falling off the 5-7 years.

Air-tech will competely saturate the fabric without brushing, spray
it on, it will soak right in. Nearly fool proof, the primer is
sandable, like an auto primer, does not clog the paper like the poly
fiber does, can be sanded in less that 1 hour after spraying,

Easy, fast, fire proof, and looks great.
