Question.....

'First, "rernest 150" welcome to the group. Second, any member know
what type seal/cover/whatever, mounts over the outboard axle bearing.
I have the notched washer and axle nut installed, but that still
leaves the outside roller area exposed to the elements. I have wheel
pants for this Fairchild, and there's an attachment stud dead center
of the axle, leaving no way of attaching any kind of dust cap I know
of. I have the large wheel fairing (Hubcap) and snap ring, but surely
this is not enough to protect the bearing ,or is it?

I repacked the wheel bearings last week so my memory is fresh. On my
24, there is a dust cap with a center hole that slides over the
attachment stud. It is a friction fit in the wheel.

By the way, I discovered you can replace the wheel cover and snap ring
after you put the wheel pants on. Dont ask me how I know. :-)

'Thanks Dan,
Somewhere over the last sixty years, this little item got lost.
I'll make the rounds of Auto parts stores, see if I can
fabricate something up. I know I've seen axle caps before.
