Thank you, too, Mike in Oregon, for the input. The entire issue started precisely with our chasing radio noise. Everything except the harness has been ruled out. And we seem to have found the bad lead. Thanks.

I'll defer to the experts about the harness but I want to relate my
experience with the metal shielded harness that's on my Ranger. The
ferrules apparently were not properly swaged onto the shielding and some
were loose. This caused no end to radio noise. I spend weeks tracking down
one loose ferrule only to discover that yet another was loose. If I had it
to do again I'd probably go with the shielded leads that someone like Savage
Magneto makes for the Ranger. They have internal shielding (I guess). FWIW

Me, too — I have radio noise that goes away when I turn off the right
mag. Could someone enlighten me as to the procedure for diagnosing the
source of the noise?

Are you referring to P-lead connections or spark wire connections?

How do you identify a bad lead?
