'Alan..Could you please say why you want to change from Hayes? What trouble
have you had etc.? Anyone else have a opinions on why to change from Hayes?
I don't mind changing etc. and am very lucky to be able to do so with local regs
and help but would like to hear of the reason why to change from Hayes. Thanks..

'Are Hayes the expander tube brakes? They heat up too quickly and recently
one of our members ground looped his F24 apparently for same issue - brakes
that were not Cleveland's or the like...

'Are the Expander tube brake wheels, the same as the mechanical brake
wheel?

Both are 10" Hayes.'

'Alan,

unless you want to rebuild the Hayes the other option is Cleveland wheels
and brakes. We have the paperwork to do that. you use the Fairchild brake
cylinders and it is a bolt on conversion. it is the Cessna 310 conversion
Kit cost is about $16,00.00 maybe less if you can shop around.

'David,

Most of the changes have been made because the Hayes did not work for the
owner. I have had many battles with them. The Cleveland's are a better brake
and they do not require all the maintenance the Hayes do.
