'i am about to come upon my anniversary for insurance. I have a pt-19.
Knowing how the industry works, where once you go with one broker all
the others are blocked out (I do know about the letters that will
allow you to seek a new broker) is there a broker or underwriter that
is more informed and able to get the best rate? I think i paid $3900
for 80K coverage, which is ridiculous when one has 13000+ TT and
nearly 1000 tailwheel!

'MIGHT TRY THE ANTIQUE AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION. BY JOINING
THEM, I'M ABLE TO SAVE QUITE A BIT ON MY PT-19
INSURANCE. I'VE BEEN WITH THEM FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS AND
MY RATES WITH THEM ARE CONSISTLY LOWER THAN THE QUOTES
I GET ELSEWHERE.

Insurance

Post by Patricia Banks »

'Hey Guys ....

About to put flight insurance on my Fairchild 24 W46 and was wondering what a reasonable quote would be. The numbers I am hearing from my provider seem a little steep. I don't have a ton of hours and only about 50 PIC tailwheel. I'm having it quoted at 30k and 40k hull which still doesn't come close to replacement cost of the airplane. Just trying to get an idea what others are paying.

Thanks

'I have my 46R46A insured for $75,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 through the Vintage Airplane Association and I pay $1,750.00 a year.  I also have a lot of tailwheel time which may make a good bit of difference.  Jay
