Charlie Bell Tailwheel Mod

'Has anyone done the modification to the Fairchild tailwheel that
Charlie Bell reccomends? I just had it done to my tailwheel
assembly, but my airplane is still several months from flying and I'm
curious how effective the mod is at curing tailwheel shimmy. My
airplane is going to live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, so it will
probably spend a lot of time on hard surface runways (what a shame!)
and I'm wanting to do everything possible to minimize tailwheel
shimmy.

By the way, "Interiors By Dene" in El Reno, OK - (405) 262-8900 -
just finished my interior work and did an OUTSTANDING job. Had
everything done original (or as close to original as we could get)
and am really happy with the finished product. I posted a few
pictures of the work in progress under the "Photos" heading of this
web board, but they don't do Dene's work justice.

'We haven't done the modification on our F24, but we refurbish all the
parts as original, recalibrating the oleo spring and the shimmy didn't
totally disappear but it(s better than before. I am allways landing on
hard surfaces here in France during military airshow.

Could you give me the http to your pictures to see the interior ?

Thanks.

'Jean-Michael:

I can't seem to get the link to my pictures to transmit in my posts
on this web board. If you go to the Fairchild Club Message Board
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fairchildclub and then click
on "Photos" to the left, you will be able to access my pictures under
NC77605. If you are still not successful, send your e-mail address
to me at: bdon661@aol.com and I'll forward the JPEG images to you.

Best Wishes,
