'Harry:
The short answer: I dont know. Sorry.
I retrieved my data from the FAA aircraft database at
. They describe aircraft
by model code, which is akin to type certificate and subtype. This
classification doesnt distinguish between "Standard" and "Deluxe",
which were considered option packages with respect to the type
certificate. If you had another source that told you which serial
numbers were Standards, you could see which ones are still registered.
Although model codes exist for the military variants, no aircraft
appear to be registered under those codes. I assume that all 24s
originally built for the military are classified as their equivalent
civilian models.
Good luck. Perhaps someone has a copy of the factory records?
It would be interesting to take a survey of registered Fairchild
aircraft and learn more about their status. I would be willing to
coordinate this if it were an internet-based project, but to do it
properly, one would have to mail out SASE inquiries, which would cost a
few hundred dollars in postage. Im not willing to finance that effort
at the moment.
