'"THIS ENGINE IS FOR DISPLAY USES ONLY!! It was restored for museum display,
and not to be used in an actual aircraft. It is missing many of it's
internal parts." What a bargain at $5000! Dream on!

I don't usually post some thing that I have not read. Secondly I take
exception at being Flamed for showing some thing that could be of
value to some fairchild owner. I get enough of that crap at AOPA.

This engine could have many useful parts in it, just because it ain't
some thing you want, that's no cause to give me the "Dream on" crack.'

I share you opinion, Tom.

We over here in Switzerland are looking for a servicable 200 hp
crankshaft to restore our spare engine. Any information is welcome.

'Tom/Others,
Dan is correct. The comment was not directed at you. I'm sorry if you, or
anyone else was offended. The comment was made in light of previous
discussion about the value of used Ranger engines. I was aware of this eBay
posting before you called it to the club's attention. It seems like
everyone thinks everything they put on eBay is worth a fortune.

Hi Guys

I am going to try to set the record straight on that Ranger up on E-
bay. I am pretty sure that this is the one that my Dad and I restored
for static display at the Polar Air Museum at Anoka County Airport in
Minnesota about nine years ago. The museum has been closed for a
while. Before anyone starts throwing bids at this thing, here is what
it's made up of - one crank case, front and rear case, junk
cyliders, junk mags, an empty cam housing, and an unusable crank
shaft that layed in the weeds that we picked up years ago and cut in
half to save weight. The intake manifols are good and the carb could
be overhaulded but that's about it. You can get a good core for $500
to $1,000. This engine is a virtual shell. It would be a great
conversation piece for $500. Hope this helps.

'That is some help. maybe you should notify the e-bay seller as to
what they really have.
