Roll up windows for Fairchild

'I'm looking ahead at cabin framework while waiting for parts to arrive and one topic
which may cause me some serious thinking is how to make roll up windows like some
Fairchilds may have. No power windows here, I'm talking about a window crank like out
of that '37 Plymouth that you have to crank manually to get the window to go up or down.
Is there anyone on the list familiar enough with typical Fairchild wind up windows that could
recommend a " universal" source of parts to make one work? In other words, has anyone seen
common hardware components that would work and could be adapted to a scratch built project?
There is a simple way to do it with a bendable strap but I thought the crank, if reasonably easy
to do, would be a worthwhile addition to the project. Thanks.
