Air boxes

'OK people,
Here is a problem you might be able to help me with.
I have a Rearwin Cloudster with a 145 Warner. The motor is about to
go on and I don't have an airbox and filter. The motor is not the one
that came with the airplane and I am having to adapt the cowlings as
the originals are pretty rough.
Therefore can anyone suggest a good way of getting around this. I
cannot afford to spend too much as I have already done that several
times over and my bank manager is losing his sense of humor. Someone
has suggested using a C172 one and adapting where necessary. Anyone
have any experience of this?
The airplane is covered by the PFA here so the modifications are
easier than they would be if it were a CAA aircraft.
All suggestions welcomed.

Do you think a Warner 165 airbox will do?
Brackett Corp has the filter elements including the frame work.

'Further to my last "help the limey" post I got hold of Harman and he
has sold me what I needed.
If anyone has any doubt, Harman IS one of the better human beings on
the planet!

'The extremely helpful Harman Dickerson has sent me over an airbox for
the Warner. What I have is a part no 7721 case with the actuating arm
and the valve but no other pieces. Much of this is easy to make but I
could use some help on a couple of things.
What air filter fits this and where can I get them? Will I need to
fabricate a holder for this or can I buy one?
Can anyone supply a photo of the back where the hot air enters. I
have a rectangular flange and presume I have to fabricate up a
connection to a flexible hose.
I have a threaded hole in the side that looks like it should take a
pipe fitting of some sort. The valve is cut out to go around this. It
is about half an inch forward of the bushing that takes the actuating
spindle. Do I just block this?
There is also a threaded hole in the center, below the front flange
and that is presumably a drain. Do I just put a drain plug in?
Lastly, the hot air end has no bypass for the hot air to escape if
the intake is set to cold and so presumably it just backs up in the
exhaust. The cabin air box has a dump line that sends this out and
keeps air flowing through the muff when the control is set to cold.
This means that half my exhuast muff is going to be venting and half
not. Is this going to cause overheating problems in the exhaust?

Price is $70.00 for the Assembly and 13.10 for the element.(I have never
seen a filter like this on a Warner engine, but someone is doing it.)
