'Hey Thane! I dug out my trusty PT 19 series CD and it
refused to start in my computer. I had talked to you some time ago when
I first got it, you told me to send it back, but I got it working on
another computer and just spaced it out. The dimension on the mag points
is no less than .012 and no greater than.025. I'll save the
Email and get back to you . Thanks Bob

Bob,
There is not an E-gap to set on these mags. They should be set so
that the points just begin to open when the mark on the large gear
aligns with the fixed mark when looking through the timing window.
The best way to accomplish this is to place a .0015 shim stock
between the contacts, then while slightly pulling on the shim stock
turn the mag drive shaft. When the shim moves the mark on the gear
should be lined up with the fixed mark. If not adjust the gap with
the points attachment screws. This information was found on my CD
under Ranger Engine service instructions L-440-1,3,5 page 24 and 25.
