Free air cooling info needed, please

'Giday, Gents. I am scratch building a Fairchild 51and will power it with a Housai 285 hp, geared engine with a
constant speed 2 blade metal prop of 94". The thing is, that the Housai comes out of a Nanchang CJ-6 aircraft
with and enclosed cowl, inter cyl. baffles and shutters out front to control the cooling. The Fairchild 51 had a fully
exposed engine and a 300 hp " free air" cooling system.
Is there anyone on the list that is knowlegeable about cooling radial engines who may be qualified to confirm
if this engine will operate satisfactorily in a free air environment ? Drag I can live with, but I don't want to compromise
safety via hardship on the engine because of the abnormal configuration. The plane will be flown in all weather
conditions from land and on skis / floats. Thank you for any thoughts.
