'Bob,

One of the 24R46A's that I maintain has a homemade one installed, works great. Bob Haas in Fla had one installed, needs remanuf.

I have no drawings, but simple to make. I would suggest SS or Alum 1/2 qt container, 3/4 inch in/out fittings. Inlet and outlet can be at the same height. Need baffle plate inside to separate the oil and air. Return line at the bottom goes back to the tank. Separator is installed on the crankcase vent line on top of engine.

If any one has a good drawing, send it my way. Will provide on the next Fairchild CD Rom update.

'Bob,

The "Homebuilder's" oil breather/separator on page 262 of the Aircraft
Spruce catalog. P/N 10570 for $38.85 is well made and works good.

I couldn't figure where to put the return line into the engine so I mounted
it high above the oil tank and with a few 90 elbows and a T it goes right
into the top of the tank. Seems to works quite well as my belly is no
longer lubricated with Shell's finest in what had been rather vast
quantities in the past. Do note the "Homebuilder's" caveat.
