Ranger Eng Bushings

'All Ranger owners:
As you may be aware our major supply of Ranger engine Bushings is
gone. Gene Haines provided me with a LORD Engine Mount Drawing J-1303-
A. Thank you!
I just had discussion with the Aerospace Eng at LORD Co. At the
present time LORD has scrapped all the tooling to fabricate J-1303-A
(Fairchild P/N 8058) bushing, this was done in 1970. LORD may be
willing to retool to fabricate new stock if interest is enough to
warrent such.
Looking at the drawing, tooling will be quite easy. They will be
looking at eliminating the hollow space inside the bushing which will
add about 1/4 lb per unit. I have made a preliminary commitment to
LORD that they should be able to sell at least 50 sets which equates
to 200 units. The new mounts will be of better quality then the
originals due to advancement in rubber and adheasive. I myself have
purchased some new/old stock last year and the mounts have already
failed, riding metal to metal. I have also told LORD that I will
take at least three complete sets (12 pieces) for bench stock.
So I put this out to the Ranger owners. If you want new engine mount
bushings. Email/U.S. Mail me and I will collect those interested and
notify LORD. The last price I had from Fresno Airparts was $45.00 a
piece for 50 year old rubber parts. I believe the new ones will be
less $$$.
