'John,

Fairchild 22 drawing #3469 on the Fairchild CD covers the front and rear
lift struts, and unlike most of the drawings this one is pretty readable.
For an F model front strut part #3467 the drawing calls for 1 3/4" x .058
1025 steel oval tubing, for the rear strut part #3441 it is 1.5" x .035 1025
oval tubing.

The set on my F-22 C7E/F project are: Front: 2.36" x 1.00" oval, Rear 2.0"
x 0.86" oval. I can't easily measure the wall thickness.

You should be able to substitute 4130 with no problems for the original
1025. Aircraft Spruce carries 4130 oval tubing in the right sizes but
apparently not with the right thicknesses.

'Jamie Treat put the CD together with F-24 and F-22 info plus Warner and
Ranger engine information. I think the Fairchild Club sells copies. Here's
