'I would like to say that I believe aircraft and parts for sale should be
listed on the Fairchild group. I much prefer that type message.

In fact, I would like it if members would put PT or F-24 on subject as most
members have either one type or the other.

'Giday Gene. Don't get me wrong here...but, if this is the Fairchild list, what
is the Fairchild group? I wasn't aware of a second list of sorts for listing items
for sale. You may be referring to the want ad type of listing on the Fairchild
website come to think about it, but that might be a fairly slow way of moving parts
or planes. For one who likes to buy and sell parts or whole planes for that
matter, this list is a much more up to date / real time sounding board for
those that really want or need things. I've sold engines, props, whole
Fairchilds to people who follow this list, all in a timely manner and bought
stuff too just after asking for it here. Sometimes we need to get things done
sooner than later I guess. Come to think of it, the list isn't that busy anyway
so why not?

You are correct in stating that an accurate subject line is an important asset
to the listers and we all should give some thought to that before posting.

'My ten cents worth ( maybe fifteen cents worth, since I initiated this
list ) is that the buying, selling, trading etc. of parts up to and
including whole aircraft is an integral part of maintaining these old
birds and keeping them flying. So list away, please...

[ I must admit that totally off topic postings of over-larded patriotism
do leave have me grinding my teeth. Among other things, this list has an
international readership.... ]

Tomorrow I fly commercial to pick up my hopefully better than new 24G,
eleven months out of service since I ground looped it and busted gear,
wing tip, and prop. It's 500 miles from it's home hanger. The 337 for a
Scott tailwheel installation is signed off (I'm told) and I will make it
available to the group as soon as I get back-- which will hopefully be
by mid-week.

Keep 'em flying...
