'A question for people who are involved in engines overhaule:

Does any crankshaft journal bearing producer/manufacturer for a Ranger engine overhaule
(for a Fairchild 24 engine).
(Could an american overhaule workshop provide such furniture?)
Or may somebody be able to give me some tips to find the right rawmaterial to tool some
new ones!...or provide some raw journals to be adjusted to my engine!

Any other advice will be great too!
Thanks,

'Airy-Hugues,

If I read you correct, you are looking for someone to make new Main bearings for your Ranger.

The following shop will make new bearings, will require a complete set of shells. Not cheap, $1700.00US for a complete bearing set. We do have new/old stock floating around. Std set is gettting hard to come by, but not impossible to find.

Antique/Vintage Engine Bearing Machine Works (Ranger Bearings) Spokane, Washington

Also, a complete list of Fairchild/Ranger/Warner and Assessory shops/persons is on the Fairchild Yahoo site, under files section. I keep it updated weekly.

'I am presently having my bearings White metalled. The shells I am told are
basically bronze with a whtr metal coating.
