'Walt,

I would love to have the old mags to scan. Will send back after they are
scanned in or on too John for safe keeping. I have quite a few already
scanned in. Marty Propst will be sending me some also. As for F-45, yes there
are at least three flying, two in the same hangar up in Idaho. I believe one
is in restoration shop and of course there is Greg's that he wants to
rebuild, but hurting for the eng drawings. That should all change end of the
year if the FAA holds true to there change in policy. As for 100 series. They
are still around serving in many rolls around the world. I know of one on the
airshow/fly-in circuit.

Take care,

Jamie

'Jamie,
I read the notice regarding release of drawings by
FAA. For aircraft such as an Inland Sport, of which
there are probably less than 20 aircraft. Fairchild
Industries owns the type certificates of all 24's,
PT's and KR series airplanes. I am unsure about FAA's
role in getting information released through
Fairchild, which still exists. The litmus test is
Gregg Herrick's F-45. I wonder how many of
Fairchild's lawyers are going to get involved with yet
to be seen liability issues regarding the release of
information. It might be in the best interests of the
Fairchild Club to encourage Fairchild to sell or
donate the type certificates for the F-22, F-24, F-45,
KR and M-62 series to the club. If the club owned the
type certificates, coordination with FAA for release
of information would be much easier. Anyone have
thoughts about this?

Mike
