'In reply to the query about F24 being exported, my F24 U.S. Army serial No. was 44-83221 which became KK521 under the R.A.F. On a visit to the U.K. I went to the R.A.F. museum at Hendon. They have a special enquiry counter and I wrote a quick note asking about the history of my aircraft. I received a reply about a month later with a form stating the date the aircraft arrived in North West Africa and the date the aircraft was struck off charge. This aircraft was flown to South Africa from North Africa and I believe more than 50 F24's were registered in South Africa in the late 40's. Tracy Robb has most of the details of F24's registered in this country. An airline was started here in the late 40's flying between Johannesburg and Durban, a 4 hour flight. Take off early in the morning and the same aircraft would do the return flight late afternoon. The adress of the R.A.F. Museum is -Graham Park Way, Hendon, London,NW9 5LL. U.K.
Any one know of where I can get a replacement valve for a fuel cock?
Great bulletin board.
