'Has anyone fitted harnesses in the front and rear seats with shoulder restraint ( full or diagonal with/without inertial reels) in an F24 and had the whole installation FAA approved?

Also I would be interested to hear if anyone has fitted/considered fitting a pre-oiler for the Ranger engine. Is it worth doing or a waste of time/money? - bearing in mind that my machine is still in the bare bones state.

'Hi, I'm am in the process of installing seat belts and shoulder harness in
the front seat of a 1946 Temco built. At station no. 3 the manual shows a
3/4 square tube however my 46 F24 has a 1 inch diameter round tube, which I
will anchor the top harness with a strap of stainless around the tube. The
rest is straight foreward. I am using the #4 military harness, from
Aircraft Spruce which is simple to use and will not get in the way of the
rear seat passengers. I do not see any need of a preoiler for the ranger
if you use the proper oil. When you pull these engines down it is a real
chore to remove the old oil. Here in SW Florida I use Aeroshell W 60 all
year round.

Ditto on what Bob has stated on the Pre-oiler. Unless you are running it in extreme cold climate. If you are in extreme cold, preheat prior to start. The pre-oiler would be nice. What out what preheat system you install and how you use it.

As for Shoulder Harness, do install, save your life. Install per how Bob stated. Choose your harness, make sure they are TSO'd. Make sure that ID nameplate and/or tag stays on harness. Your IA will be looking for it. As for paperwork, up to your IA. The FAA does not consider the installation a Major Mod (new ruling) unless you make a structural change to the airframe. A log book entry with up date of W & B and Equip list should be enough. A 337 can be submitted, up to your IA and local FSDO. Keep it simple, but keep it documented.
