When my civilian 1940 F24 was in the military, they added towbar rings welded
to the main landing gear legs. The civilian models never had these rings.
They are welded onto the front of the main strut. I built my towbar to have
a u-shaped end with a spacer between the flanges of the U and a bolt down the
center.
It works fine.
