'A good deal of the 1946 & 1947 F24's were build out of left over UC-61 parts after the contracts were cancled at the end of WW II.
Temco built most of them. Fairchild contracted with Temco to build the 46F24. We wer4e told of this by ex Fairchild employees we talke to at the Fairchild Homecomming at Hagerstown in 1995. Fairchild also had a Personal Planes division at Winfield, Kansas to build the F27 the all metal aircraft that looked some what like a Navion. It never went into production. As for what is orginal on a F24 post war Fairchild that is a very good question that may never have an answer.
