'For me, Facebook is a non-starter. Where I work, we have too many
security issues that have arisen from employees and their FB accounts.
It doesn't matter whether an employee is accessing it from home or work,
the same issues keep showing up.... work related comments that should
not be in public at all.
I foresee a significant access clampdown coming on FB access by our
employees soon, or a requirement that our IT Security department have
100% access to an employee's account, including passwords. I work for a
major DoD contractor, so some of our privacy and security stuff is much
more stringent than the normal working world.
A straight email reflector would probably be the easiest to set up and
the least amount of hassles in the long run. A good example is the ARC5
radio list. It runs off of Mailman on qth.net. I don't know about
Mailman or the space requirements, but I don't think it takes much as
there are a couple of hundred ham radio lists running off that domain.
I'm agreeable to what the majority of the members choose to do, but for
me, should the group transition to FB, I'll be off it until I retire in
about 9 years and don't have the work restrictions on me.

A closed page on FB keeps only ‘members’ together, allows for easy accès of pictures and videos and all Fairchild related.
There is also WhatsApp.
