'Gentlemen:
The advertisement for my Aeromatic F-220-085 has generated a lot of questions about the compliance status of Tarver SB2000-001.  As of 27 October, 2015, the blades have been removed from the hub IAW the Aeromatic Model 220 Propeller Service Manual, dated January 24, 1949.  The initial visual inspection of the blades revealed one missing or broken lag screw on one blade - Serial # 19055.  The other blade - Serial # 19054 - had no missing or broken lag screws.
With many thanks to Jamie Treat and Ron Anderson, today we will check the torque of all the lag screws using Tarver SIP (Shop Inspection Procedure) 001 and if they meet the standards spelled out in Tarver SB2000-001, the SB will be signed of as complied with and the prop will be reassembled IAW the Aeromatic Service Manual.
PLEASE NOTE - the removal of the blades from the hub negates the 185 Warner specific setup for the pitch stops and counterweight arm angles that the prop had when I purchased it.  If you purchase this prop, you will have to verify and adjust as necessary the pitch stops, counterweight arm angles, and counterweight mass for your particular engine and airframe application.  The process for this is explained in the manual and the Tarvers are EXCELLENT at walking folks through the setup process, which they are able to do even though they do not currently have PMA to manufacture blades.
Please contact me via the email address on the Barnstormer's ad (type Aeromatic 220 in the search engine on the Barnstormer's site and it will take you to my ad) if you would like pictures from the visual inspection and SB compliance process.  The pictures are high resolution with file sizes too big to post here.
If you are unfamiliar with the Aeromatic prop in general or unfamiliar with SB2000-001, the Tarver's are available to answer questions about the prop and about the status of their shop vis a vis PMA and CRS.  The SB is available on-line with a Google search and is very straight forward.
Sincerely,Brad Donner

'Gentlemen:
My prop was inspected today IAW Tarver SB 2000-001 and passed.
The one missing / broke lag screw in blade serial # 19055 is permitted by the SB (Part II, Paragraph (b) 1 'Note'.  The other lag screws all passed the SB torque standard of 150 inch-pounds; all other inspection items in the SB were completed with no discrepancies noted.
The SB will be signed off in the prop log.  The prop will still require setup of the high and low pitch stops and the blade phase angle.  These settings VARY by airframe / engine combination, so they can't be accomplished until the owner selects the airframe / engine combination the prop will be installed on.
As of this evening, I have a local buyer for the prop and will withdraw the Barnstormers ad as soon as the buyer sees and approves of the log entries.  If for any reason the sale falls through, the prop will still be available but the price is subject to increase given the fresh inspection status of the prop.
Best Wishes,Brad Donner
