'Stuart,
I'm replacing the stamped ss three-into-one exhaust setup on my Fairchild, which experienced catastrophic failure while inroute to a antique aircraft fly-in here in Texas. I lucked out in finding a set of 3-1 cs tubular headers off a 'parts' Ranger at the fly-in FBO's hanger! Picture attached - hope you can see it...
I really like the sound and looks of individual exhaust stacks. However, without an existing 337, don't think the aesthetics are worth the hassle. Cost/fit-up are certainly simplified over a 3-1 or 6-1 setup, but we've got certified aircraft, limiting our available options. The photos Airy forwarded of single stacks looks cool! Kindly send me the dimensions of your setup so that I can evaluate that option further on my spare engine.
AMI (MN) will hopefully be fabbing my new ss tubular 3-1's this week. Need to get buttoned back up and in the air! Hoping I won't have to do too much 'adjustment' to get the flanges lined up with the exhaust studs...
Regards,
Bill C.

Hi Bill
I have a few single stacks on the engine that will go onto my F24 project
when it is done. I am contemplating whether to fit singles or two 3 into 1
branches which I think is more common, although the look and the sound of
the singles tempt me. Bill if you need dimensions of a single stack to have
them remade, let me know and I will draw one up for you.
Cheers
Stuart

Has anyone installed single-exhaust stacks on their Ranger 6-440 engines,
specifically on Fairchild 24R? 337?
