Hi we have a Sensenich W86CB69 on our Warner Super Scarab 165 powered Great Lakes. We have 1820 rpm in climb with 70kt. In cruise 1850rpm. The engine produce 165hp at 2100 rpm and take off 175hp at 2250 rpm.
Which other prop can we use to reach for example 1950-2100 rpm in climb?
What would you suggest.
Regards Thomas.

Re: Propeller for Warner Super Scarab 165
'Maybe interesting for you, the answer from MT Prop:
It's true that the engine delivers 165 hp at 2100 rpm.In the Sensenich list, however, there are no Great Lakes with wood FP, but a Fairchild with the W86CB69, ie 218 cm diameter / 175 cm gradient.Sensenich also has a W86CA63 for the Scarab 145. 63 inches would be 160 cm.We have made a MT 218 R 160 - 6AH of which unfortunately I have no flight data.If we assume your tachometer is correct (has it been calibrated?) Then the smaller grade would be better for take off and climb. For the journey the Sensenich is ok, because you want rather low speeds with the old engines.
So you have 2 options, either the Sensenich with 63 inch pitch or our MT 218 R 160 - 6AH if you want a higher speed. Our propeller costs € 3.000,00 plus 19% VAT ex works Straubing and can be delivered within approx. 4 months. Unfortunately, we do not know the prices of Sensenich. If you want to order the propeller, we still need to have the information about the propeller hub, because there are different ones.
