Tony:
Can I get your N number and the serial number of your plane? I have a friend who has researched the PT's and I would be interested in what he has on your plane. There should be two different serial numbers for your plane. The The Fairchild one usually begins with a T. Example (T43-7624). The other one would be the AAF serial. There were some PT-26's built for the US. The Fleet built ones had the apple green tubing. There were 200 Fleet built PT-26's that had both a Fleet serial number and a AAF number. The Army wanted 200 Stearman's back that the Canadians got through Lend Lease so they allocated the money to build 200 PT-26's to replace them so they were required to have a AAF serial number as well as the Fleet serial number. My dad had one of theses PT's and Ed Escallon's plane is also one of those planes. Thanks Tony!

Re: Serial number.
' Sorry, Mike, I have never owned a Fairchild PT. I have an F-24, N28522, S/N 136, originally a F24W40-A, and now after a 1952 engine change it is an F24W41-A. Cheers! Re: Serial number.
'Hey Mike I think you may have been talking to me I will get that info to you but I know the entire history of my aircraft it was commissioned by the RAF to train British pilots in Canada in the Ottawa area. Then went to neepawa Manitoba in the number 26 ETFs Flight School after that it was given to the Americans in the lend lease agreement and it's served the US Army Air Corps in Fargo North Dakota. As soon as I get to the airplane I will send you the rest of the information you requested. It's also fairly interesting because it's got a factory serial number but it's also has a US Army Air corps serial number I will send you both
