Drag/anti drag wire tensions F24 R46 (UC61K)

Post by Frank Cox »

'Folks, Does anyone know how to set the correct tension in the drag wires of the 4 bays of the wing and what the values are?
In a Cub the deflection at the mid point of the wire is measured when a known force is applied at that point. ie. 1/2 inch deflection with a 15lb pull at that point.
Perhaps the same method is used but I cannot find any values.
Many thanks

'Hello Frank,

The manual T.O. No 01-115CA-3 "Srtructural Repair of C-61 Series Transport Airplanes" page 21 lists the values. If you dont have it I will be glad to send you a copy of the page. You will need a tensiometer which you can calibrate for the thickness of the wire.

Cheers
