F-24 Pitot Static routing

Post by jwm1801 »

'I am getting ready to route my pitot static lines and I have a
question of the proper routing for the static line. I have a 1946 F-
24 with the short pitot tube on the lift strut fairing. I am unsure
where the static line gets routed to. Can someone help me? Thanks JON'

'Yours is much different than mine. I have the Pitot/static enter the left wing leading edge slightly inboard of where wing tip bow ends. Only about 3-4". Then the 2 lines from the probe assembly cross under the front spar to the back side, then turn inboard the full length of the spar. They exit the wing, aft of the front wing attachment fitting, then are coupled to the lines in the fuselage via short rubber hoses.

I guess that this won't be of much help. Knowing how yours may have been changed, you can probably still find the old lines in the outboard portion of the left wing and maybe find the access hole for where the old system was connected.
