'Am considering getting another Ranger powered Fairchild 24 (owned, flew and enjoyed a 24R46 from '86 to '94) and would appreciate if someone could furnish the original empty weights of the following models: 24K, 24R9, 24R40 and 24R46A. Thanks very much!

'Roger,
Our UC-61K without the military equipment weighs in at approx. 1850
lbs including full oil.
UC-61K and 24R46A are similar.

'Karl,
Thanks very much. Seems the 24 empty weights vary considerably; the 24R46 (converted to 200 h.p.) I had owned weighed 1,762 lbs w/o oil. Best wishes with yours.
With regards,
Roger Johnson

'Thanks. The reason I inquired about original empty weights of pre- and post-WWII models
was to get an idea of the amount of "fat" some have gained since new. If I'm correct, the 24R46A models weighed 1,730 lb w/o oil out of the factory. - Roger J.

'Dan,
Thanks very much! Am learning that quite a few 24Rs have gained considerable weight during 60 to 70 years, 10% or more with a couple them.
